Case Study

The Woolverstone website serves as a rich historical archive, documenting the legacy of the Berners family and their lasting impact on the Woolverstone estate.

The site provides detailed accounts of the family’s history, complete with family trees and insights into the buildings they constructed. A Heritage Fund grant was awarded to support current residents in showcasing Woolverstone as a village of historical interest.

One of Woolverstone’s most distinctive features is its collection of 15 Grade II Listed buildings, which visitors can discover by following the Heritage Trail map. This map, featured on the website and available in print, highlights key locations in the village. Research into the Berners family was conducted by Simon Pearce, and both the website and map are beautifully enhanced with illustrations by Anne Plummer.
